my friend has a couple of M Audio AV 30, and every time I went to her house, I think, dang, I wish my music that sounded like that. Flat. Smooth. do not lift the bass, not distortion to moderately loud volumes. It just looks good. It doesn't hurt your ears. It is a pleasure, like looking at a beautiful painting, when you listen to good music through the speakers with good. These are built for mastering music in the studio, but as far as studio monitors, they are dirt cheap
